Whitty Street Depot and Tram 120

The tram is an urban space that is mobile, bringing you on a journey to explore the city. It served the same purpose 120 years ago, as it does today. First, enter the factory that manufactures Hong Kong’s trams, and learn about the little-known art of refurbishing trams, as well as the tram-making process. Afterwards, step onboard the legendary “Lucky Number” tram, Tram 120, the oldest intact tram cabin in Hong Kong. Look closely at the design details, such as the wicker chairs, wooden window frames, tungsten lamps, and the British mechanical controls. They backtrack through the evolution of city transportation. Starting from Western District, weave through the busy city and observe the buildings, streets, signs, and people through the unique “tram perspective”, giving your day a new rhythm and mood, and rediscovering a different side of the city.
